So long, Age of War. Greetings, Age of Heroes!

Long live Age of Heroes!
The dawn of a new age is upon us. With it, preparations and arrangements are in order, Exile. Here’s a quick guide to help you on what’s been and what’s to come!

Before Age of War ends

Battle Pass

First things first, have you finished your Battle Pass season? Ensure you complete any levels left behind and claim all your rewards before the new Age arrives.

As stated on a previous post, there will be no new Battle Pass seasons in the future. So, feel free to toss those coins you were saving for another season into the Bazaar to get your hands on the items before the new rotation!

Freya

Our favorite Aesir Warrior will become a different kind of follower when the update hits. Freya will rise from the ashes as a new companion! If you want to recruit her as a standard follower, do it now… the traditional way. And if you’ve got a few stashed away, don’t worry. You’ll still be able to place them as usual after the New Age arrives.

Headhunting

Make haste, Exile! Take the sorcerer’s skulls to the Khitan wagons, get your Ancient Obolus, and buy whatever you can afford before they take a break from business. The Headhunters will return at an unknown time when their thirst for sorcerers’ must be quenched once more. We’ll let you know when we see them coming!

Getting ready for Age of Heroes

Living Settlements

Is your stronghold ready to become a vibrant and suitable place for all the workers who will soon become followers? Once the Age of Heroes Living Settlements feature arrives, your workers will be available to be placed on the ground just like any other follower. Unlike fighters, archers, and performers, they will have dynamic behaviors and needs to fulfill.
Make sure to have campfires, beds, and chairs at their disposal. A water fountain and fireplace are also great options for your worker-followers to enjoy.

Don’t forget to check distance, too. Even as your workers move around, they will provide bonuses to workbenches up to ~140 meters, or a little over 50 foundation blocks away. You can select which crafting bonuses you want from a new window at each crafting station! For more details, [click here for the blog].

Having a place to yourself is also good for a clan leader’s mental health. If there are places you don’t want to share with the staff, block access by swapping out stairs for elevators! Removing doors would also work a lot like removing certain stairs from certain pools in other lands…wink wink!

Finally, plan ahead for the outfits and equipment you want your new followers to rock! Craft stunning armor to dress your new followers in. Or keep them in rags…it’s your choice…we will judge though.

Companions

The new companions will test the knowledge and strength of even the most seasoned warriors of the Exiled Lands! Explore beforehand to understand the clues your companions will drop in conversation. Level up and gear up to survive the hunts and battles ahead!

While you’re at it, it might be time to follow the Dead Sorcerer’s map and learn more about the dark arts of spells and incantations. A few blood flasks would also come in handy.

Age of Heroes is coming in October. Grab your gear and potions, arrange your workshop, and set up a dining hall. A new life is about to begin in the Exiled Lands!
